NPS National Junior Honor Society/Community Service Form
Entry into the National Junior Honor Society is based on five pillars: Scholarship, Service, Leadership, Character and Citizenship. Seventh and Eighth grade students are welcomed to apply for membership to the NPS National Junior Honor Society if they meet the following criteria:
Scholarship
Service

Students must complete a minimum of 12 hours of approved community service.

Service hours are valid from July through March of each year.

Students must track their service hours on their own and have a supervising adult (not a parent) verify the hours by either signing off on the hours on the Community Service Verification form OR providing the student with a letter or email.

If you have any questions as to the appropriateness of your service project, please see Mrs. Mezzanotte for pre-approval.
Leadership
Character
-
Students must demonstrate that they have reputable character - they are cooperative; demonstrate high standards of honesty and reliability; show courtesy, concern, and respect for others; and maintain a respectable attendance and disciplinary record.
Citizenship
-
Students must demonstrate citizenship by following school rules and local local/state laws.

Students demonstrate mature participation and responsibility in activities such as scouting, community organizations, or school clubs.

All application materials must be submitted to Mrs. Mezzanotte by April 1st, 2025.
Students receive their NJHS application results at the end of April.
The NJHS Induction Ceremony is generally held in the evening in Mid-May.
